Bob Jeswald, meteorologist with WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia, gives Soldier Marathon runners this weather update as of Thursday midnight, November 4, 2015. The weather forecast for Saturday, our Race Day, is for scattered thunderstorms and 90% chance of rain with temperatures in the mid-60’s and 70’s. Specifically Bob and I talked about the possibility of thunderstorms. Our race policy is to delay the start of the race in event of the sighting of lightning or the imminent threat of lightning. Fortunately the weather system we see is moving more north of Columbus with light rain. We will continue to monitor the weather and update runners as we get information. Cecil Cheves, Race Director.
